Gi and No Gi Jiu Jitsu taught as one connected system. Classes run six days a week, structured for people who train consistently and want to keep getting better.
A Studio 540 Affiliate.
Gi Jiu Jitsu
The gi reveals the details of the game. Grips, frames, posture, timing, each position carries more information, more texture, more consequence. It’s where the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu live, and where a systematic approach to learning them makes the most difference.
No Gi Jiu Jitsu
No gi is a different conversation on the mat. Without the friction of the gi, movement and timing take on more weight, and positional understanding has to be genuine. The curriculum mirrors the gi program, same system, same progressions, so both sides of the game develop in relation to each other.
Women’s Jiu Jitsu
A dedicated class for women within the same MODO system. Focused and held to the same standard as every other program on the schedule.
Studio 540 was built around a simple but rare idea: a club, not a brand. Anyone from any team, any lineage, could walk in and train without politics or pretense. That openness drew some of the greatest practitioners in the world to a small gym in Solana Beach
Free seminars with Roger Gracie, Buchecha, Braulio Estima. An open mat that became a destination. Superfights that launched careers—including the first match between Gordon Ryan and Felipe Pena, held right there on those mats. Studio 540 didn’t just host jiu jitsu. It contributed to it.
